Before you order
How long does delivery take?
We deliver nationwide across South Africa. Orders are packed and dispatched promptly, and delivery to main centres typically takes a few working days, with outlying areas taking slightly longer. You'll receive tracking details once your order ships.
Will it fit my car?
The plate is designed for standard front and rear number plate mounts and fits most vehicles with a conventional plate recess. If your car has an unusual or very small plate area, send us your make, model and year before ordering and we'll confirm fitment.
Is installation difficult?
The plate mounts where your current plate sits, using the included hardware. The control module then needs to be connected to the vehicle's power. If you're comfortable with basic 12V wiring you can fit it yourself; otherwise we recommend having an auto electrician or fitment centre do the connection for a neat, safe install.
How does the tinting work?
The plate uses an electronically controlled smart tint layer. The control module powers that layer from the vehicle, and the included remote tells it which state to be in: crystal clear or deep smoked. There's no film to peel and no covers to fit by hand.
What's included?
Every kit comes with the Smart Tint Number Plate, the control module, a remote, the wiring and the mounting hardware needed to fit it.
Can I use it on the front and rear?
Yes. It's designed to suit both front and rear plate mounts. Each kit covers one plate, so order two if you'd like a matching look at both ends of the car.
How do I keep it looking new?
Wash it with the rest of the car using a pH-neutral shampoo, then dry it with a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, polishing compounds and harsh solvents, and don't aim a pressure washer directly at the edges or wiring.
What happens if the vehicle loses power?
The tint layer is electronically controlled and draws its power from the vehicle, so it can't be switched while there's no power. Once power is restored the remote works as normal. If you'd like to know exactly how your unit behaves with the ignition off, contact us before ordering.
What warranty is included?
Your purchase is covered by your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act. For the current warranty terms on the plate and control system, or if anything isn't working as it should, contact our team with your order number and we'll help.
Is it legal to use on South African roads?
South African road traffic regulations require number plates to be clearly visible and legible, and obscuring a plate on a public road may not comply. We can't give legal advice, so check with your local licensing authority before use. You are responsible for making sure your plate is displayed in a compliant, legible state whenever you drive on public roads.
